West Mediterranean Exporters Association participated in World Food Moscow exhibition which was held 26th time this year with a crucial importance for exporting fresh fruits and vegetables to Russia and the countries nearby. The exhibition took place in a period in which commercial relations between Turkey and Russia has been rapidly developing. Mr. Mustafa SATICI, Board Member of Turkish Exporters Assembly, stated " The relationship between Turkey and Russia has been rapidly recovering. In parallel with developments in the political area, trade volume has been developing as well. Export figures of Turkey to Russia has not reached the figures before the crisis yet but we hope it will. "

Mr. SATICI added " We participated in the fair in national level with 16 companies and 510 square meters of booth size. Participant companies have made important business contacts. Turkish exportation of fresh fruits and vegetables worth 1 billion 176 millon dollars in total. Russia is a leading partner with 259,3 million dollars import volume. In comparison with the last year's figures, Turkey's export to Russia has increased by 151%.

West Mediterranean Exporters Association Board Member Ali DEMIR and Secretary General Fisun EVRENSEVDI PEKTAS also participated in the exhibition. Products of the West Mediterranean Region were promoted in the booth. The booth was visited by Turkish Ambassador in Moscow Mr. Hüseyin DIRIÖZ and Turkish Commercial Counselor in Moscow Mr. Halit Oral AKBAY.
