The project is conducted by West Mediterranean Exporters Union with supervision of Ministry of Economy. Development of fresh fruit and vegetable, seed export in West Mediterranean, increasing the competitiveness of companies in foreign markets and branding are the main goals of the project, in which 26 companies participate. In the first phase of the project the analysis is going to be made by consulting company. The second phase will be the training based on the analysis results. Finally, studies will be provided intented to the target export markets defined by participating companies.

THE PROJECT HAS 9 SPECIFIC GOALS

Project for development of fresh fruit and vegetable, seed export has started with the meeting, organized in West Mediterranean Exporters Union (WMEU). Ali Demir, WMEU Board Member, assumed the role of chair of the meeting, welcomed all participants and informed them about the goals of the project.

Project for development of fresh fruit and vegetable, seed export has the following goals:

• producing and export according to the demands of target market

• offering diversity in productions

• increasing the production and export capacities of companies participating at the project

• finding solutions to the sectoral problems

• increasing the number of exporters

• getting into new markets

• increasing fresh fruit and vegetable, seed and fertilizer sector export

• increasing the local employment and investments in the area

• increasing the recognition of local productions in the international area

10 INTERNATIONAL TRADE ORGANIZATIONS IN 3 YEARS

The international trade organizations will help to achieve fresh fruit and vegetable, seed and fertilizer export development. During 3 years of project period, totally 10 international trade organizations will be organized.
